AGRR’s Annual New Products Guide
by Abby Bowman
Though the auto glass industry has had a tumultuous year, the new products that hit the market are a good sign. From adhesives with shorter minimum drive-away times to updated business management software and lead generation services, these products were designed to make technicians’ and shop owners’ jobs a little easier.
Adhesives
DuPont
BETASEAL™ ACE
DuPont is launching its new primerless-to-glass urethane adhesive system, BETASEAL ACE, at Auto Glass Week™ 2025. The company says the system simplifies installation by removing the glass priming step and provides consistent quality, ADAS sensor compatibility, and a 30-minute minimum drive-away time (MDAT). DuPont crash tested BETASEAL ACE to ensure it meets federal safety standards. It can be applied in temperatures as low as 0 degrees Fahrenheit.
BETASEAL ACE doesn’t require primer on the inner and outer frit or OEM paint and is engineered for strong decking and minimal sag and slide. The adhesive system’s high-modulus, non-conductive formula conforms to the original equipment manufacturer’s specifications.

Sikaflex P2G Premium
SIKA Corporation launched the Sikaflex P2G Premium adhesive for auto glass replacement. It has a 3-hour MDAT, a short cut-off string, strong decking and glass-slip properties. It is designed to perform well at elevated temperatures.
According to SIKA, Sikaflex P2G Premium is a cold-applied, fast-curing, high-viscosity polyurethane adhesive designed to replace direct-glazed automotive glass parts. The adhesive doesn’t require the glass or ceramic frit to be primed or pre-treated.

The Sure Shot includes a flip-attach suction cup, sliding support arm and adjustable balance screw to accommodate most windshield curvatures. It also contains two repair fixtures and two resin injectors so that technicians can repair two chips simultaneously, plus a dual-action scribe, UV-curing lamp, hard-sided carrying case, and one-year warranty.
AEGIS says the American-made Sure Shot is one of its most economical windshield repair kits, and it’s designed to complete a repair in 30 minutes.

Recalibration
Autel
MaxiSYS IA700
The Autel MaxiSYS IA700 is one of the first optical positioning, wheel alignment pre-check, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) calibration kits designed for both in-shop and mobile applications. Technicians should be able to take the system apart in 90 seconds, and it combines features from previous Autel systems, including the mobility of the MA600, IA800’s alignment pre-check, and IA900’s unlevel floor compensation.
The IA700 is designed to streamline diagnostics, alignment checks and ADAS calibration into a single system. Autel says the system’s cameras and software ensure precise target positioning, so technicians don’t need to measure manually. The system verifies alignment accuracy before calibration to reduce errors, compensates for unlevel floors and includes step-by-step visual instructions to guide technicians through calibration. Autel also offers remote expert support and comprehensive reporting to ensure manufacturer compliance and provides assistance with all calibrations.

Marcy Auto Glass Products
Quantum Moldings
Marcy Auto Glass Products is now producing Quantum Moldings at its facilities in Columbus, Ohio. Marcy calls them “the next generation of universal mouldings,” which are now available at distributors throughout the United States. The mouldings are made with a new sustainable compound with zero greenhouse gas content that makes them flexible enough to lie flat on glass with sharp or tight corners, even in extreme temperatures, according to the company.
The mouldings have a satin finish to avoid fading, shrinking, or cracking. Because the moulding itself conforms with the glass, butyl is not required, though technicians still must prime the moldings per the PU manufacturer’s instructions. Marcy says all its mouldings are made in the U.S. from sustainable materials.

Tools and Supplies
Gold Glass-ALP
GGG Auto Glass Plastic Wrap
Gold Glass-ALP designed GGG Plastic Wrap to preserve a broken car window until a permanent replacement. The plastic wrap is perforated every 3 feet for easy tear off and it’s available as a single 60-foot roll, or in a master box of nine rolls. The wrap prevents damage to upholstery, electronics and other vehicle parts by keeping rain, snow, wind and dust out of the vehicle’s interior. It makes it difficult for a potential thief to get inside the vehicle and helps keep any remaining glass shards from scattering inside the vehicle and on the ground. The wrap lets drivers continue safely and legally, in most places, as long as visibility isn’t impaired, using their car until a new window is installed. The company says it’s a much more cost-effective solution for the customer than an emergency glass replacement.

The kit helps shops move Groves’ windshield rack more easily so they can rearrange their floor plans or get the rack closer to their work. Each kit includes four steel mounting brackets and four 5-inch heavy-duty casters. Two of the casters are rigid, the other two swivel and have brakes. The kit also includes the hardware needed to put the casters on the rack.

Creating an Even Exchange
Until a few years ago, Jack Mahoney and Erblin Ribari were white-collar business consultants who knew little about auto glass. Then, they took on a mid-sized auto glass company as a client and developed a passion for the industry.
As the auto glass company owner discussed the industry and its pain points, Mahoney and Ribari began forming a plan for Auto Glass Exchange (AGX).
“I started to talk to other shops,” Mahoney says. “The more I talked, I found a pattern. People in the industry are under stress. I learned that running an auto glass business is like holding onto a tiger on a leash. It keeps running away from you, and you have to try to hold on.”
Mahoney saw that managing technology, service leads, competition, part-finding, coordinating manufacturers and distributors and marketing, all while providing glass services, was overwhelming to many shop owners and managers.
“If you’re a single operator of a small to medium-sized business, you have to become an expert at a lot with limited resources quickly,” Mahoney says.
He and Ribari started AGX to help owners manage all those elements. Although many point-of-sale (POS) and business management systems are already available, Mahoney says they don’t have everything in one place.
“The first thing we observed is that shops’ digital workspaces are [often] fragmented,” Mahoney says. “So [it can be hard to tell] if you’re getting paid, or if the money’s even being collected.”
AGX allows shops to connect all business management elements in one software. Ribari says users can put a question in a centralized search function and artificial intelligence pulls the answer from multiple parts of the system.
“Our whole objective is not just to be a software as a service (SaaS) platform,” Ribari says. “It lets you do your day-to-day operations while improving customer satisfaction. We also provide business intelligence (BI) analytics.”
Mahoney and Ribari say business owners can customize the system to allow other staff as much or as little access to shop information as they like. Technicians, shop managers and customer service representatives can access data from across the business to help them perform their jobs more efficiently.
AGX isn’t designed to replace anyone’s job or to cut down expenses, according to Ribari.
“We’re here to help you make more money and do more business,” he says.
AGX debuts at Auto Glass Week™ 2025.
Let’s Frogitout
Jacques Navant wasn’t thrilled with the cutout tool options on the market when he started working for Don’s Mobile Glass around a decade ago.
“As soon as our technicians got comfortable with the tool, they were broken or unusable,” says the technical director of the Modesto, California-based company. “So we set out to design something that could last a technician’s whole career.”
Navant, a self-proclaimed nerd, pictures the tool as the everlasting gobstopper candy from Willy Wonka. As long as technicians perform regular maintenance, he says, they can use it forever. Navant combined his favorite elements of windshield cutout tools already on the market into a prototype. He painted it green and dubbed it “the Frog.”
Navant designed the Frog’s pulley-based system to put less strain on technicians’ bodies. Instead of putting their body weight into a cold knife or pulling on a wire cutout tool, they could turn a crank.
The Frog has long been available to and popular with technicians outside of Don’s Mobile. Still, Navant and frogitout are debuting their Auto Glass Safety Council (AGSC)-approved training and a comprehensive tool manual to the public at Auto Glass Week™ 2025.
“When we sell something, we don’t just sell a tool,” Navant says. “We sell training and service. We go the extra step to provide tips on how to use it.”
“Technicians can name the tool and put their company logo on it,” he adds.
Navant, who is also AGSC’s president, will give away two Frog tools as door prizes at the organization’s ’90s Bash in Reno, Nevada, on September 9. One will have AGSC’s logo on it to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standard™ (AGRSS), and the other will have AGW’s logo for the event’s 20th anniversary.
Iron-Clad Protection
“The best advertising is a happy customer,” says Damon Badenell, an Auto Glass Safety Council (AGSC)-qualified technician in Arizona. He’s found that one of the best ways to keep customers happy is to protect their vehicles.
That’s why he started Iron Hide Covers in April 2025.
“My main goal is to offer a reasonably-priced set of durable covers as professional protection for serious technicians,” he says.
Iron Hide offers customizable covers, so customers can choose the fabric color or add their logo. Badenell outsources the logo printing, but keeps the rest in-house. He even bought a sewing machine and a heat press so he didn’t have to rely on someone else for those steps.
Badenell says running the business isn’t always easy. He still works 10 or 11 hours daily as an auto glass technician, then comes home and spends several more hours making cover sets in his un-air-conditioned garage workspace.
“I’m basically learning a new trade,” he says.
Badenell says he gets most of his business through social media, which his wife helps run, but he had just launched a website when he spoke with AGRR in mid-July.
“I had four or five orders not long after I started the business, and since then it’s kind of blown up,” he says. “Right now [in mid-July], I’m working on three full sets, and once I finish those, I have four or five more orders. I got a couple of them from my new site.”
He includes some “swag” with every order, which ranges from technician aprons to bracelets handmade by his 7-year-old daughter.
“I put my daughter to work,” Badenell says, laughing. “I told her I’d give her $5 for every bracelet, and she was pretty enthusiastic about that.”
Iron Hide will display in booth 109 and is even supplying covers to some of the Auto Glass Technician Competition (AGTO) competitors.
“When deciding whether or not to join AGW, my wife reminded me that sometimes you have to stand on the ledge and jump right in, even if you don’t know the outcome,” Badenell says. He looks forward to seeing where Iron Hide takes him at AGW and beyond.
