  1. This is a fun, sporty vehicle to work on. It is not as complicated as it looks. As always, start by doing a pre-inspection of the interior and exterior of the vehicle, followed by a pre-scan.

  2. Examine the new glass and make sure you have the correct part. Inspect it for scratches and distortions and ensure the brackets are undamaged and properly installed. In this particular vehicle, setting spacers need to be reinstalled if the new glass doesn’t have them.

  3. To remove this cover, start by removing the centerpiece. Insert a tack puller or another tool of choice in one of the gaps and ply it off.

  4. Once the centerpiece has been removed, there is enough space to grasp the cover and gently pull it off.

  5. Remove the rain sensor by releasing the metal clip off the bracket.

  6. (Continued.)

  7. Use a small peck tool to disconnect the humidity sensor.

  8. Always note where the windshield wipers are parked.

  9. Remove all the clips that look like this one that are attached to the cowling. Push the center part gently and then pull up the entire clip to remove them.

  10. Disconnect the windshield wiper fluid hose and remove the clip below it.

  11. Remove this plastic cover by removing the four clips that hold it in place.

  12. Note if any other aftermarket parts are installed. You can even take a picture and add it to the invoice.

  13. It’s best to use plastic tools to remove the side mouldings. Since the moulding sits along the vehicle’s body, use one tool to create a gap between the body and the moulding, and insert the second plastic tool to open up the retainer moulding and release the side moulding.

  14. Continue working your way down using the same technique until you release the moulding from the retainer.

  15. A clip hooks under the fender at the very bottom of the moulding. Grab the moulding and push it toward the glass with your thumb to release the clip from the fender.

  16. To cut the glass out, there’s enough space between the vehicle’s body and the glass to use various cutout tools. Choose what works best for you.

  17. Prep the vehicle’s body and glass, following the adhesive manufacturer’s recommendations. Be sure to use setting spacers.

  18. Reinstall everything in reverse order, and test your mechanicals. Next, you must perform an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) recalibration followed by a post-scan and test drive to ensure all systems are working correctly and the vehicle is road-safe.
