This exotic vehicle can be intimidating, but it’s actually one of the easiest replacements out there. The beauty of our trade is that we always have new challenges working on new vehicles with new designs

Start the installation with a pre‑inspection and a pre‑scan. Protect the vehicle as much as needed around the working area. Also, inspect the new replacement windshield you are about to install to ensure that it is the correct windshield and there are no defects that can compromise the installation.

To remove the cover, ply it off from the top. Most of the time, the rearview mirror will release off the bracket as well.

Once off, the cover can be removed from the rearview mirror easily.

To dismount the camera, hold it with one hand and…

…at the same time, push the upper tab and slide it up to release the camera. Remove the rain sensor and the harnesses off the bracket. Once removed, confirm that the new mounting brackets are the same one last time before cutting out the

It’s time to start removing parts under the hood. To remove the end cowling covers, first undo the taped dam and slide it up to release it from the clip, then slide it toward the back of the vehicle to completely remove it.

Once the cover is removed it’s easier to save the clips.

Next, remove the windshield wipers. If necessary, use a wiper puller.

Remove all the plastic screws and ply the cowling off from the bottom of the retainer molding. Personally, I prefer to use a fiber line cut‑out tool to cut out the glass. This avoids damaging the body of the vehicle. After removal, prep the body of the vehicle and the glass according to your adhesive manufacturer’s recommendations.

Reinstall everything in reverse order from the removal, add new gel to the rain sensor if needed, then test the components and mechanicals to ensure they function properly. Next, recalibrate the camera and finish up with a test drive, post‑inspection and a post‑scan. This vehicle is ready to go back on the road.

It is very important to record the Department of Transportation (DOT) number, retention system lot numbers and glass part numbers on every single installation. For this installation, the DOT number is 682 and the part number is 68240500.
