My, How They’ve Grown

AGRR’s 2025 Fastest Growing Retailers Set the Standard

by Abby Bowman

Ask the owners of any of the companies on AGRR’s 2025 Fastest Growing list about their secret to success, and they’ll tell you the same thing. The key isn’t acquiring new locations or doubling down on marketing, though those things certainly help. It’s ensuring the customer leaves safe and satisfied. When that happens, these companies’ leaders say, success follows.

Our Methodology

Selected companies either submitted their information to AGRR or have publicly available data. To give a complete picture of the industry, AGRR chose companies from multiple revenue brackets. Using these criteria, we identified several companies that achieved a high growth percentage since the 2024 list and contacted them for more information. The companies below meet our selection criteria and responded to our requests for comment.

The research division of Key Media & Research, the parent company of AGRR magazine, assisted in gathering and analyzing the data and information necessary to select the 2025 Fastest Growing Retailers.

A Precision Auto Glass

Mobile and Daphne, Alabama

Joanne Mendelson and Mark Jones started A Precision Auto Glass in the ’90s with one employee, but today, they have two locations and more than 20 employees. That may still be small compared to other businesses on the 2025 Top Retailers list, but that hasn’t stopped A Precision from making a big impact.

The company installs safety glass for vehicles, RVs and machine equipment. It also performs rock chip repairs and windshield-related Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) recalibration.

Mendelson and Jones met in 1973 when they both worked for the same large glass company. Mendelson dispatched mobile technicians, and Jones was one of them. When an even larger company bought their employer, customers began encouraging the pair to go into business together.

“That was scary,” Mendelson says. “But we bit the bullet and did it.”

A Precision opened in October of 1993. Mendelson and Jones have more than 50 years of experience together in the industry, giving them essential knowledge and skills.

“We both grew up in the auto glass industry and learned it all,” Mendelson says.

One of Mendelson and Jones’ top business goals has always been treating customers the same as they’d want to be treated. To make every customer interaction personal, A Precision doesn’t have a voicemail system. Instead, all the employees are trained to answer the phone.

“We do a quality job,” Mendelson says. “We do what we say we’re going to do. If there’s an issue, we address it.”

To that end, she and Jones made A Precision a registered member of the Auto Glass Safety Council (AGSC). Two of their technicians are AGSC Certified Master Technicians.

“We wanted to make sure our customers knew we were legit,” Mendelson says. “We’re just like the big guys with our certificates.”

Mendelson and Jones ensured their care extended beyond their customers and into the community. According to Mendelson, A Precision supports a local domestic abuse shelter, the Penelope House, and local chambers of commerce. They also sponsor school sports teams.

“We just try to do what we can to help,” Mendelson says.

Mendelson and Jones both cite their devotion to customer service, caring for their community and employees as the keys to their success.

“We’re grateful for the quality of work our employees put out,” Mendelson says.

Driven Brands

Headquarters: Charlotte, North Carolina

Driven Brands has made waves in the auto glass industry over the past year. In 2024, the company launched Driven Claims, its third-party glass claims administrator. It also partnered with its first insurer, Arabella Insurance. Auto Glass Now (AGN) turned consumer heads with a marketing campaign that humorously depicted people driving windshield-less cars in the spring of 2024 and welcomed Nathan Edwards as its new president in May 2025.

AGN has been in the industry for over 30 years, according to its website, and Driven Brands acquired the company in late December 2021. It has over 200 locations and 700 mobile vans scattered across the United States.

AGN’s “No Windshield” marketing campaign recently earned a bronze Effie Award in the automotive aftermarket category for “Breaking Through in a Category Dominated by a Huge Competitor.”

AGN director of marketing and public relations, Katerina Papagiannis, says the company has participated in several of the National Auto Body Association’s (NABC) Recycled Rides programs, fixing glass on vehicles later donated to people in need.

During the California wildfires at the beginning of 2025, Papagiannis says AGN shops in Southern California offered snacks, water and free Wi-Fi to people impacted by the fire. Several locations accepted donations for those in need. Papagiannis says all donations will be delivered to the American Red Cross to help ongoing relief efforts.

Granite State Glass

Headquarters: Gilford, New Hampshire

With 15 locations scattered among three states, Granite State Glass serves many communities. According to David Ryan, vice president of marketing, and Patrick Marcotte, controller, their dedication to each community put them on the 2025 Fastest Growing list.

Ryan says Granite has been that way since its founding in 1984. Owner Bill Marcotte was working at an auto glass shop and decided to buy it. From there, he built it into the multi-shop regional company it is today. Granite employs 35-40 auto glass technicians and also offers commercial and residential services.

“From day one, the message from Bill Marcotte was always, ‘Take care of the client, they’re the reason we’re here,’” Ryan says. “Granite employees are empowered to do the right thing every time.”

Patrick, Bill’s nephew, adds that doing the right thing includes fixing mistakes.

“If someone comes back six months after a replacement and says they have a leak, we’ll honor that,” he says. “We’ll talk to them and take care of it.”

Ryan says they don’t have to guess whether or not customers appreciate their work. The company surveys its clients every month.

“About 95% of the feedback is great, but if there’s somewhere where we fell short and the customer didn’t voice that right out of the gate, they’re always very surprised and thrilled when our team reaches out and asks how Granite can help,” he says.

Granite serves the community in other ways, too. These include contributing to local fundraising events.

“There are a few that we donate to yearly, but there are others that we try to rotate and share those dollars among different community needs,” Ryan says.

Patrick Marcotte has a personal connection to one of those causes. Granite sponsors several local school sports teams, including ones Marcotte coaches.

“It brings a smile to my kids’ faces to see our name on the jerseys and the websites,” he says. “The fact that we support those leagues yearly is important, I think, because it keeps kids active. Ultimately, it’s about keeping this next generation coming up happy.”

Ryan says that the training they provide to all employees, from CSRs to technicians, is another significant growth factor.

“We try to look ahead and stay ahead of the curve, always keeping the customer number one,” he says.

Nu-Vu Auto Glass

Headquarters: Twin Falls, Idaho

According to Nu-Vu Auto Glass president and CEO Neil Christensen, company culture sets the standard for success. He says that’s how the company went from two employees at its start to about 20 today.

“It’s been about building a culture of growth, community, mutual support and winning,” he says. “We want everyone we bring on to stay and be successful.”

Christensen says Nu-Vu employees get more than glass training. He also instills in them company pride, and customer service reflects that mindset.

“I tell my team we are a customer service organization that just happens to do the best installation job out there,” he says.

Christensen says Nu-Vu still makes mistakes, but a recent incident allowed them to demonstrate how hard they work to fix them.

A customer brought her car in for a rock chip repair and, as the technician backed the vehicle out of the garage to return it to her, he ran into another car. The company took the customer’s vehicle to an auto body shop and got her a rental car for the week.

“That was a very expensive rock chip repair,” Christensen says, laughing. “…But that’s just how we do it. If we mess something up, we’ll take care of it no matter how much it costs us.”

Nu-Vu is an AGSC Registered Member, which Christensen says helps prove its mettle.

“Our sales representative gets to tell customers, ‘We’ve gotten these accreditations and we’ve taken the time to train our technicians to do the job the right way so you are safe when you leave the shop,’” he says.

Nu-Vu Glass began in 1957 in Burley, Idaho. Around 2003, it opened a shop in Twin Falls, Idaho, and then, around 2017, it acquired a small shop in Pocatello. Thanks to Christensen’s dedication to the auto glass side of the business, Nu-Vu Auto Glass branched out from Nu-Vu Glass in 2022. Nu-Vu Auto Glass offers auto and RV glass replacement, rock chip repair, and ADAS recalibration.

“We’ve grown a ton,” Christensen says, detailing Nu-Vu Auto Glass’ expansion from two shops to five and its revenue growth since its first year. He hopes the company continues that trend, and says he’s grateful for the warm customer welcome at each new location they acquire.

Texan Glass & Solar Control

The Woodlands, Texas

Texan Glass & Solar Control is celebrating its 25th anniversary and its second consecutive time on the Fastest Growing list. President David Duensing didn’t necessarily see that coming when he founded Texan in 2000.

“I don’t know that I had the vision of us reaching the size we are,” he says. “I knew that we could grow … and somewhere along the way, we hit a point where we were coming up with new ideas and expanding to different markets, and things just started working out.”

Texan opened its eighth location in the Rio Grande Valley in April. Now, Duensing says, Texan locations extend from the Mexican border along the coast to the Louisiana border.

“Once customers start coming to us, we often hear things like ‘Wow, you guys are here already?’” he says. “They tell us they [were satisfied with the] service elsewhere, but ours is really good.”

Those people refer others to them, creating loyal return customers. Duensing says the same is true for the company’s large fleet accounts.

“We’ve become the problem-solver for many of our fleet accounts,” he says. “[They know we’ll say] ‘I have no idea what’s wrong, but let’s figure it out.’”

Duensing says most of their fleet accounts send vehicles to Texan for recalibration, rather than the local dealership. Texan began offering ADAS recalibration in 2017, and the company works on ADAS components beyond just the windshield-mounted camera. According to Duensing, that’s been one of the company’s biggest growth drivers.

“We do over a thousand calibrations a month,” he says.

In addition to a full range of auto glass services, Texan also works with residential, commercial, and security glass. Duensing says his son, AJ, plays a key role in helping him manage all the company’s facets.

Duensing ultimately credits Texan’s employees with the company’s growth.

“Good employees are the core of our success,” he says.

Some might say Texan has more employees and trucks than it needs, according to Duensing, but that’s all part of his strategy.

“It’s like the [‘Field of Dreams’] quote, ‘If you build it, they will come,’” he says. “If you have the people and the trucks, the growth comes.”
