Double-Dipping Deer
A sheriff ’s deputy in Stafford County, Virginia, recently handled a truck whose windshield broke in an unusual way.
Deputy R.T. Kulbeth arrived at the scene of a deer collision to find the vehicle involved sporting a windshield with a gaping hole and a smashed backlite. Thankfully, the driver was able to walk away from the crash—and so was the deer.
“I wasn’t expecting the deer to be alive,” Kulbeth says. “That was a shock … we were going to use a catch pole to drag it out, but it jumped out of the truck right when animal control arrived.”
According to the driver’s report, the animal flew through the windshield into the backlite before coming to rest on the passenger-side floorboard. The incident was so strange that the sheriff ’s department posted about it on its Facebook page, complete with puns and song references.
Just Hanging Out
Gerard Morcilla of GlassMasters Autoglass in Alberta, Canada, recently had a bit of an adventure on the job. He posted this picture to the Facebook group All Things Auto Glass, captioned, “I couldn’t be paid enough to change the glass in these cranes ever again.”
What Not to Do
TikTok user Lauren (username lo210) recently went viral for a video of the not-so-excellent windshield replacement she’d received at her local body shop. She begins the video by prompting someone off-camera to push on the bottom of the windshield. The windshield pops out across the top, revealing it wasn’t properly bonded to the car.
