1. Geico Sends Notice on New Market Pricing

Geico sent out a notice regarding its new policy on glass market pricing for recalibrations, in the U.S. excluding Florida. The auto insurance’s new pricing policy be-came effective for glass shops May 14, 2020. Geico says the rate standards don’t affect current guide-lines for collision repair shops.

2. Mygrant Glass Opens Four Locations

Mygrant Glass has recently opened four new locations, which the company states brings it to a total of 84 operating locations nationwide.

3. Ford Cautions Against the Use of Aftermarket Glass

Ford Motor Company recently is-sued a statement outlining what it says is the need for OEM glass to be used in replacement on the company’s vehicles.

4 Vitro Automotriz Glass Closes One of Its Production Lines

Vitro Automotriz, S.A. de C.V. (Vitro) announced the company is closing one of its production lines in Meadville, Pa., where more than 100 positions will be impacted by the closing. According to Vitro, the economy, COVID-19 and a need to re-build the line were the result of the closure.

5Mygrant Files Denial

Mygrant Glass Company Inc. (Mygrant) recently filed a response to O.E.M. Glass Network Inc. and Brooklyn Wholesale Glass Inc. (known together as OEMGN) amended complaint in the boycott lawsuit involving several industry companies. The company denies all of the allegations in OEMGN’s amended complaint and has asked the court to rule in its favor.
