1 PGW Auto Glass Acquires American Glass Distributors

PGW Auto Glass LLC acquired American Glass Distributors, one of the largest independent wholesale distributors of automotive aftermarket glass and supplies in the southern United States. Family-owned and operated since 1972, American Glass is headquartered in Ft. Worth, Texas, has approximately 300 employees and operates 14 locations throughout Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. The acquisition closed December 23, 2022.

2 Safelite Group Acquires Reliable Glass Division

Safelite Group acquired the auto glass assets of Reliable Glass headquartered in Phoenix. The transaction was completed October 14, 2022 and was Safelite’s sixth major acquisition in 2022. The combined businesses will offer vehicle glass repair, replacement and recalibration services to Arizona customers. Reliable Glass has five locations throughout Arizona.

3 Safelite Group Acquires Premium Auto Glass

Safelite Group has acquired the assets of Premium Auto Glass, headquartered in Denver. The deal closed Friday, Dec. 9. Terms of the sale were not disclosed. Premium Auto Glass is a 13-year-old auto glass repair and replacement company with five locations in Colorado including Arvada, Centennial, Colorado Springs, Littleton and Longmont. It also services Pueblo.

4 Lubner Leaving Belron; Brito New CEO

The board of Belron Group announced the appointment of Carlos Brito as its new CEO. Brito joined the company in January 2023 and will take over as CEO in March. He will replace Gary Lubner, who led the company for two decades. Lubner will remain on the Belron board of directors following the changeover.

5 Class Action Against Kia, Hyundai Alleges ‘Defective Vehicles’

A class action lawsuit against Kia and Hyundai alleges that certain vehicles were manufactured without engine immobilizers making them easier to steal. It’s also alleged some of the vehicles do not have their windows connected to the security system.
